I’ve given you all some insight into my thoughts on life, making mistakes, and all the fun serious things that make for a good, deep post. But, because it is Wednesday–HUMP DAY WHOOP WHOOP, I have decided to give you some fun facts on who I am and what makes me laugh, cry, etc. etc. I had a recipe post in the works for today, but I just felt like posting this early 🙂
Insert embarrassing selfie with plant horse here…
I’m the Kind of Girl Who…
+ Always has a to-do list. I love, love, love a good to-do list. I seriously cannot do anything without one because of how forgetful I am. I’ll remember the things that don’t matter, but when it comes to things I need to get done…like laundry…I’ll conveniently forget to do them. A list keeps me on track.
+Gets herself lost. All. The. Time. I literally need to buy myself a working GPS because the one on my iPhone hates me. My friends joke that if I think we should go one way, we should turn and go in the opposite direction because it’s most likely the wrong way. I am notorious for getting myself super lost, and once after dropping off packages at a UPS store only a few blocks from my dorm I went in the wrong direction for over twenty minutes before having to get a cab. I would have probably continued if it hadn’t started snowing which of course moved me to tears.
+ Can’t decide whether she likes the snow but for sure hates the cold. I think snow is pretty for like 2 days, and then it gets old. In Chicago the snow turns into a projectile because of the constant wind. I can only stand my face being numb every time I go outside for so long. I’m a sunshine and 104 degree summers kind of girl. You can find me on the beach, especially when Chicago decides to snow in April…NOT COOL.
This is what it looked like in February too…stupid snow.
+ Can’t tell a lie to save her life. Along with getting myself lost, I am also a terrible liar. I would for sure be the first to get myself killed on any crime drama. Anyone who knows me well enough can tell when I’m lying–being an actress as a kid didn’t do me any favors in that department. I can keep a secret, but honesty is always my policy.
+Could live in big t-shirts and yoga pants. I feel like I speak for most girls when I say this. Sadly I have been told that going out in public like this is unacceptable, so I usually try and put in an effort on most days to look presentable. But, on my day off, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find me in my comfy clothes with a cup of coffee and a good book.
+ Loves hugs. Sorry to all my friends who aren’t always in the mood to hug it out, but I love hugs and am a pretty “touchy-feely” kind of person. I love hugs and all that jazz. When you see me for the first time or even the 200th, always expect a hug.
+ Is surprisingly sassy. Under the mainly sweet nature of who I am is a whole lot of sass, and I’ll be the first to admit I am a sassy-pants. After being quiet and shy for so many years, I kind of got sick and tired of taking crap from people who thought they could walk all over me and the ones I care about. I’ll always be nice and polite, but don’t think I won’t let that part of me out when I have to.
+Likes to prove people wrong. As a kid I went through some terrible bullying where I got my first dose of the reality that people are cruel. I got told I was stupid, ugly and wouldn’t amount to anything. Instead of letting myself fall even farther and let them all be right, I decided to pick myself up and prove them wrong. So far I think I’ve done a pretty decent job.
+Has a hard time letting things go. Letting go of all the hurt that many people left me with that been hard to deal with. It’s easy to let yourself be bitter and hold grudges against people who intentional take out their anger and hurt on you. Forgiving people like God does has been a struggle, but it’s completely worth it to forgive and let things go.
+Listens to music constantly. When I’m walking to class, working on photos or classwork, when I’m in the shower–I always have to have music playing. Growing up singing everything from arias to Broadway show tunes, my life could literally be a musical. Playing french horn for seven years and training as a classical soprano for over ten just added to this. I think it drives my roommate insane sometimes, but thankfully she puts up with me 🙂
+ Will laugh at just about anything. This includes all my own jokes–which happen to not be that bad for the record. Laughing is supposedly some sort of medicine in itself, and I’m going to use it as much as humanely possible. I love the sound of laughter–especially hearing my dad’s big booming laugh. It’s absolutely the best thing in the world. I am quick to befriend anyone who can make me laugh, and Spongebob jokes are my favorite.
+Hopes to be nice to everyone. If everyone were just kind to the people around them, the world would be a much better place. One of my main goals is to try and be nice to everyone I come in contact with. You never know what someone is dealing with, and you should try your best to not make it any worse–try your best to make it a little bit better. Even though I don’t always succeed and I can get a little grumpy on a bad day, all it really takes is a smile and letting them know you care.
+ Adores food. My mom made the mistake of letting me have free reign of the kitchen at the age of 8. I made a terrible rock-cookie-thing in a foil pie pan with all the extracts and sprinkles we had in the house. Give it over eleven years, and I have to say I’m pretty skilled in the kitchen. I love finding, making and eating good food whether that is in a restaurant or my own kitchen. And to make it even better, I’m pretty much always hungry.
I hope you all enjoyed this little expose on myself, and feel like you know the girl behind the keyboard a little bit more. Oh, and I almost forgot–guess who got into UT Austin?!?!? THIS GIRL! I am absolutely on cloud nine right now.
I’m thinking of putting up another post this weekend if I have the time in between entertaining my sister, so stay on the look out for that! 🙂 And as always, HAPPY HUMP DAYYYYYY
